Arrival at Half-Blood Hill

Holding his black camera he stares ahead. He'd only heard rumors from the nymphs he'd met in Virginia. They said that since he was 14 the monsters could track him. Ever since that incident with his mother he'd been praying to the god's every night. Offering burnt food to them. Lately his mind had been drifting back to that horrible night. Looking to his shoulder he saw his pet owl Gote resting. Then he looked down at the minotaur and the hell hound that were beneath him. Taking their pictures was a challenge while being chased but they came in handy. When he found his camera at his mother's funeral he knew something was magical about it. When he noticed that the greek words on it said, "A soul isn't the only thing a camera steals." He always wondered what it meant. But he didn't care at the moment. He was just focusing on getting to Half-Blood Hill. A camp for demi-god's. He noticed the minotaurs pace slowing. He looked around and didn't see anything but tree's and darkness.

A voice drifted toward the male's ears. It was beautiful, soft, and soprano. The song spoke of beautiful fields, great battles, and terrible losses. As if the song could be heard by the plants as well, the roots to the trees began growing and strengthening, trapping the minotaur and hellhound within seconds. The song ended, and the roots hardened, keeping the monsters in place.

Hearing the melody of the voice surprised him. He turned but couldn't see anyone or anything. Subconsciously he pulled out his camera and found the picture of a celestial sword. He pressed the button and it materialized into his hand. He instinctively grabbed the hilt with both hands. He held his sword drawn waiting for something to happen.

The source of the voice appeared. A girl around thirteen walked out from behind a tree, wielding a spear. The spear was celestial bronze, he height, and had a hand guard that was protected by a small sheet of bronze. The tip was a leaf, and protruding from the leaf-tip, two vines wrapped around the spear, winding around it and sprouting leaves. She walked slowly up, and pressed her spear forward, attempting to impale the Minotaur.

He looks down to see a girl almost his height holding a spear to the minotaur. When he yelled, "Hey you stop it took me a long time to take a picture of this." He raised his sword. He shouted again, "Back away if you don't want your head chopped off!" He pressed a button on the camera. The minotaur went back into the camera long with the hell hound. after he secured his camera he looks at the attacker.

The girl looked up at him with a cold glare.
"I don't know who you are, but you just tried bringing two of the deadliest monsters in existence into the camp. You are lucky I don't impale you on a giant rose thorn kid." She said with authority. Her soft voice made it less scary, but the boy had seen what she could do with the plants, she hoped that was enough. Raising her spear tip to the boy, she glared at him. The jet-black locks of hair that made up her bangs blow in front of her face in the breeze, followed by her pure white dress. Barefoot, she stood there, not showing any pain though she stood on dried pine needles and rough tree roots.

Looks her straight in the eyes, "What you think your little plant trick is that amazing?" Takes out his camera. Takes a picture of her. He says, "You like yourself?" He glares at her, "Well go kill yourself." He sends a command to the clone to kill her counterpart. He smirks as he watches the two go into combat.

Emily didn't move as a clone of herself appeared in front of her. A hermes kid did something like this once, except his was deformed. This one was flawless. Humming, she called upon roses to sprout from the ground and wrap around the clone's legs. Stopping, and injuring her. Emily then charged her with the spear, a quick step forward and a thrust, nothing fancy for a clone.

He took a picture of her using her power. He then pressed a button and gave the clone the power. Before the original could stab the clone the clone used her own rose thorn attack. He began to press a button making all of his collection of monsters appear. A giant Hydra appeared and started thrashing about.

"Honestly? New kids." She scoffed. Humming she turned the rose thorns on the clone. The clone being less powerful, it couldn't fight her on this one. She didn't pay attention to the monsters, as none of them could cross the border. They all growled, hissed, glared, and hated from the other side of the border.
"Sucks to be you." She retorted to them.

He watched the clone turn to dust. He gave her a congratulatory clap, "Congratulations but dear don't you realize. They aren't monsters. they are my creations!" He retorted a laugh. He says, "Well who's going to show me around this joint?"

"Show you around? You summon a platoon of monsters right near the border, and you expect to be welcomed with open arms?" She replied, almost yelling as she did so. Tapping the tip of the spear, she returned it to it's charm form and it floated to the bracelet, opening and fastening itself to the chain as if by magic. Glaring at the boy, she began to hum. A few roots grew around him and waited for a command. "You will follow me to the Big House, try anything funny and you die. Mr. D will deal with you."

"Well your the one who tried to ambush me." He laughed and said, "They aren't monsters they are clones of them." He grinned and put his hands up in the air a sign of surrender. He quickly caught up to her pace. "So do you have nectar here?" He ran a quick glance over her. Demeter he though the goddess of harvest. "So by Mr.D who do you mean?" He stumbled.

"Names have power, kid. Mr. D runs the camp, and nectar is only for those who need it. You don't." Emily said, turning around and heading back from camp. The roots fell back into their position, turning back into inanimate parts of the tree once again. She wove through the trees, not checking to see if he was catching up. Making a sharp turn to the right, her hair swayed behind her as she disappeared down the trail.

a darkly cloaked figure suddenly appears out of a crack in the ground


"who's the new kid emily?"

"I don't know. Came into the border riding on a minotaur, with a pet hell hound at his side. I am taking him to Mr. D so he can deal with him." Demeter replied, turning to greet the other male. She raised a hand in greeting, quickly lowering it to her side. Her eyes swept over his body, then to the crack in the ground, then to the surroundings. Beginning to hum, she created a narcissus flower, which she picked and placed behind her ear. Looking back at him, she said. "I haven't seen you in a while. How are things....with your father?"

aiden looks down at the ground at the mention of his father

" his rage has stopped, now i am told, he sits and broods, deadalus tells me from time to time"

" as for him, ill deal with him, remember, its the solstice? Mr. D is at a meeting"

-aiden snatches the camera away from the newcomer-

" no mosters on the grounds, its a threat to the camps safety, leave it here, or give it to Mr. D when he gets back, if you try to enter with it, i will be forced to crush it"

-aidens arm flickered, momentarily displaying just bone-

"Hmm. Well, I hope it works out with your father. Did Chiron take the half-bloods yet, or is he here to consult with?" She asked, running her fingers through her hair.

"he is about to leave, he told me to ask if you wanted to come, i got distracted by... our little visitor"

"He asks me every year. He knows that...since my first quest... Both Ares and Aphrodite hold grudges against me." She said, remembering the time she had helped Hephaestus in one of his most elaborate plans to humiliate the couple. Chuckling to herself she continued. "I don't want to risk her deforming my face or something over night. I already have bad enough luck with the boys."

ah well, im not going because zeus and poseiden dont like hades already, and me being there, in zeus's territory... well... you get it

"Yeah... Well, wanna enter the Chariot races next month?" She asked conversationally. Turning back around she looked at the boy. "Hey kid, no one to discipline you. Do you know who your dad is or what?"

"sure why not, not like i could go with anyone else... no one trusting me and all"
